Why flavours matters in food and beverages?

Whenever we notice the ingredient list of packed food stuff. We usually see 'added flavour'. Even though food can be prepared without flavours or essence. Why we need this in packed foods. To know these we need to first understand difference between flavour and taste.



There is a difference between taste and a flavour, Taste is a physical experience or a mouth feel but a flavour is natural sensation of taste and aroma to our taste buds and olfactory system (receptor cells in our nose responsible for sense of smell.

Take a mango ice cream for an example, When you take a bite on your mouth within a seconds you experience Ripe, Fruityand cream characteristics of mango and that is the magic of the flavour inside the mango ice cream.

Normally fruit pulp or concentrate, spice or spice powder whichever used as flavouring items in our foods typically don’t have enough flavour strength to satisfy one’s taste buds, Including a flavour in recommended dosage can improve both taste and flavour.
